The Live Aid benefit concert, on July 13, 1985, was a telecast fundraising concert for famine relief in Ethiopia. The brainchild of Bob Geldof, it was held in London and Philadelphia, as well as other venues such as Sydney and Moscow. Live Aid was broadcast to 140 countries throughout the world, and more than 104 US television stations. Millions of dollars were raised.
